Welcome to part two of our guide on selecting the perfect AIRCARE® humidifier for your needs! In part one, we explored the various types of humidifiers — evaporative, steam and ultrasonic — and their unique benefits. Finding the right type of humidifier is key, but there are also other important factors to consider when choosing the ideal AIRCARE model for you.

Factors to keep in mind when choosing a humidifier:

  • Size (of the space and humidifier): Both the size of the space and the size of the humidifier itself are important factors to take into account. AIRCARE evaporative humidifiers are better suited for whole-house humidification, while our steam and ultrasonic humidifiers are better suited for smaller spaces, such as individual rooms. If you need to humidify larger spaces, the size of the humidifier will most likely be larger than a tabletop version that can only humidify one room. Our Horizon model, an evaporative humidifier designed for whole-house humidification, will take up more space than our DUET model, an ultrasonic table-top model.

  • Reservoir size & type: The size of a humidifier’s reservoir determines how often it will need to be refilled. Compact units, such as AIRCARE’s AURORAmini, may require a refill throughout the day compared to larger units, like AIRCARE’s Valiant, that can run days without refills. There are different types of reservoirs: pour-in, removable tank and bottle-types. Pour-in reservoirs are attached to the humidifier and need to be filled by a pitcher or vessel. Other reservoirs (removable tanks or bottle-type reservoirs) can be detached and filled at the sink. Our fill hose can be used with any humidifier. It makes refilling our larger humidifiers easier  just attach it to your sink faucet and fill.

  • Daily humidification range: This is a measure of the humidifier’s rate of evaporation. A large one, like the AIRCARE Executive, could add gallons of water vapor to the air every day, while a smaller unit, like the AIRCARE AURORA (in white or black) may only add one gallon of water vapor the air.

  • Maximum run time: The length of time that the humidifier can be used. This will indicate how often you will need to attend to your humidifier. For example, the AIRCARE Mini-Console has a maximum run time of 90 hours, and the AIRCARE MESA has a maximum run time of 12 hours.
